Shri Mataji's Orbituary
Shri Mataji's Orbituary
GENOVA – H.H. Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, founder of Sahaja Yoga and recognised by many as the most important spiritual figure of our times, passed away Wednesday, 23rd February in Genova, Italy.
Born in India on March 21 1923, Shri Mataji’s unique spiritual predisposition was immediately apparent to all who met her, including Mahatma Gandhi. Together with her family she was deeply committed to India’s freedom struggle and, although she was little more than a child at the time, happily gave up a very comfortable lifestyle for the sake of freedom.
She later married Sir C.P. Srivastava, one of India’s most respected and highly-ranked civil servants, and together they raised a family. Although Shri Mataji was born with her complete Self-Realization and knew from a very young age that she had a unique gift, she wanted first to show, by her own example, the perfect compatibility of a deeply spiritual life with the ordinary life of a householder. So it was only once their daughters were married and settled that Shri Mataji began her public spiritual work.
Thus, on the 5th of May, 1970, while in meditation on a lonely beach of Nargol (India), she discovered the secret to en-masse Self-Realisation through which thousands of people could achieve union with the deepest, most subtle aspect of their being, thereby triggering a process of spiritual self-transformation.
Sahaja Yoga was born, and since then Shri Mataji dedicated her life to the spiritual ascent of mankind, visiting every corner of the world, granting people the experience of Self-Realisation and communicating her message of integration and harmony. She reclaimed the role of women in the spiritual realm and lay the groundwork for a society based on enlightened spiritual awareness.
Sahaja Yoga is now established in more than 100 countries throughout the world.
H.H. Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi is survived by her husband, Sir C.P. Srivastava, her two daughters Kalpana and Sadhana, and her family of hundreds of thousands of devotees throughout the world.
A private memorial service will be held in Palazzo Doria, her Italian residence in Cabella Ligure, before she returns to India and is laid to rest.

This is a quick note to keep you informed based on some common questions we have been asked:
Where will Shri Mataji be laid to rest after this weekend?
Shri Mataji will be laid to rest in Delhi, India after we have had the chance this weekend to pay our final respects to Her in Cabella.
Will the hanger be heated over the weekend?
Yes it will be heated so that people can stay overnight.
Will it be possible to stream a live broadcast from Cabella?
We are making arrangements for this.
Warm regards,

Shri Mataji took Samadhi
As a person grows and steps in the shoes of his parents. There is a joy in parents that their kid have taken the responsibilities and now they can rest. Similarly our holy mother, seeing all of us together and united as one family realised that we are enough catalyst to take the sahaja movement forward and after observing all her children for long finally has taken samadhi.
though she might not be physically with us but we all know that the relation of kundalini, soul and body. Every one be it human or god who has has taken a birth has to leave earth one day. The only difference is that realized people have the option to choise their own time.
this day, though we are in great sorrow, however there is a big challenge in front of us. Now we have to select our path on our own. The easy source of light and knowledge is gone. however like candle the source lit a lot of candles. now is the real test or what we call as the final judgement...

The Creation
Originally taken from  http://www.sahajayoga.org/swan/view/swan_881_2011.asp
Dear brothers and sisters,
It has come to our attention that an unfinished manuscript to a book that Shri Mataji is working on is being circulated within the collective. The provisional title of the book is ‘The Creation’. However, Shri Mataji has not finished editing all the material, which has never been officially published because She has felt that the collective still needs to grow and mature. Without Her approval it is inappropriate and inauspicious for this material to be distributed.
The World Foundation, on behalf of the world collective, has again asked Shri Mataji whether or not the time is ripe to publish the material. While we await Her answer, we seek the patience of our brothers and sisters to hold on until the work is completed.
As such, we kindly request that the manuscript be removed from the public domain. Please do not publish it on the Internet, circulate it, or print it, and please delete any electronic copies you may have. As soon as the official version becomes available, with Shri Mataji's approval, we will let you know.
With love,
Publishing Committee

Holy departure of Shri Mataji from India and Darshan at Nirmal Dham
Holy departure of Shri Mataji from India and Darshan at Nirmal Dham: "
It was a very exciting day (Saturday, 4th December 2010) altogether since morning for everyone in India. Yogis in India especially those staying in Delhi and around were gearing up to catch up the event since morning to offer their pranam and surrender at Her Holy Feet of Shri Mataji on the eve of Her holy departure from india. It was indeed a very short stay but was a historic holy visit in this land of Kundalini with the unique Virata Puja. The holy departure of Shri Mataji was also clubbed with Her holy Darshan of Shri Mataji at Nirmal Dham in Chhawlagaon, Delhi in the morning.
